PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of the Director of Student Services the primary role of the Clinical School Social Worker is to identify and assist students families and school systems to overcome barriers that interfere with learning through the use of assessment counseling and consultation coordination of school and community resources and program development. The Clinical School Social Worker functions as a mental health professional on the multidisciplinary teams and responds to referrals from school administration parents teachers Tier 2/3 teams Special Education and others by providing direct services and by assisting families in accessing appropriate community resources. School Social Workers will conform to the standards established by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) code of ethics. Job Description Clinical Social Worker RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide direct counseling services on an individual smallgroup or family basis Serves on multidisciplinary team(s) to address needs of students with or without disabilities to assure implementation of appropriate services programming and/or placement. Assists in the development of intervention strategies to meet individual social emotional learning needs. Provides consultation to administrators and teachers on broad areas of mental health as well as specific student needs Participates in collaboration and/or supervision hours on a regular basis. The Clinical School Social Worker may provide clinical supervision to staff as needed. Keep abreast of best practices in school social work and mental/behavioral health practice as part of the continuing professional development process. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Possess a valid drivers license as some indistrict and instate travel is required May require lifting (up to 50 pounds) bending squatting driving sitting for long periods of time standing for long periods of time climbing walking pulling and/or pushing carrying grasping reaching stooping crouching and crawling Perform any other related duties as required
