Job Description
POSITION: Anticipated Culinary Paraprofessional (School Year)
32.5 hrs/wk
BUILDING: Carlisle High School
POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides instructional support to career and technical education students in the Culinary Arts Program under the direct supervision of a highly qualified teacher.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Manages a schoolbased bakery under the direction of the culinary teacher.
Assists the culinary teacher in the operations of the Courtyard Caf.
Assists the culinary teacher in working with students individually or in small groups to reinforce content and skills.
Assists the culinary teacher in implementing and maintaining classroom and culinary lab discipline as directed.
Assists with the culinary arts program needs as requested: shopping stocking ordering record keeping and catering.
Assists in keeping the culinary arts lab clean hygienic and organized.
Assists in organizing and preparation of classroom and culinary lab materials as needed.
Acts as a role model to students.
Agrees to work before or after the regular school day as needed to assist with community events.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Associates Degree in the Culinary Arts or appropriate training in Bakery/Pastry Arts
Appropriate industry experience in Bakery/Pastry Arts
Preferred Certifications:
Serv SafeFood Handling and Safety Certification recommended but not necessary
REQUIREMENTS: Act 24 Arrest/Conviction Certification; Act 34 Criminal Clearance; Act 151 Child Line Clearance; Act 114 FBI Fingerprinting Security Clearances; Act 168 Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release and SafeSchools Training
