Job Description

Whats the Gig

As a SchoolBased Occupational Therapist (OT) youre the superhero helping kids conquer school tasks with ease! You work in schools to support students with physical sensory or cognitive challenges making sure they can shine in class on the playground and beyond. Think of yourself as a coach cheerleader and problemsolver rolled into one.

What Youll Do

  • Check Things Out: Assess kids skills like writing cutting or sensory processing to see what they need help with.

  • Make a Plan: Create fun tailored goals for students through IEPs or 504 Plans to boost their school success.

  • Get HandsOn: Lead therapy sessions (oneonone or in groups) with activities to improve motor skills selfcare or focus.

  • Team Up: Chat with teachers parents and school staff to share tips and tricks that help kids thrive.

  • Gear Up: Suggest cool tools like special pencils seating or tech to make school tasks easier.

  • Keep Records: Jot down progress notes and stay on top of paperwork to keep everything legit.

  • Share the KnowHow: Teach school staff and families how to support kids skills at school and home.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree either a masters degree or a clinical doc
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Adaptability and welcome change
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Good documentation and writing skills
  • Great personalities and people skills
