A Brief Overview
Responds and assists the Physician and the Registered Nurse by providing assistance to professional staff during the preprocedure procedure or postprocedure period. This position will assist with procedure room setup scope cleaning and scope maintenance as well as entering and maintaining inventory control.
What you will do
- Transports and transfers patients.
- Prepares the room for procedure in a timely fashion.
- Maintains efficiency in handling equipment at physicians request during procedures.
- Verifies specimens with Physician and Registered Nurse.
- Achieves and maintains a working knowledge of equipment and tools.
- Assists in positioning patient or equipment for procedure as well as hooking the patient up to the patient monitor.
- Assists with secretarial/clerical duties as needed.
- Requisitions supplies and equipment maintanence and repair requests and prepare related forms.
- Cleans and maintains equipment.
- Keeps stock and equipment inventories.
Essential Qualifications
The individual must be able to work the hours specified. To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily including having visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others hear understand and distinguish speech and other sounds. Required Education License/Certification or Work Experience:
- Technical Certificate six months to one year medical experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- SGNA GI Associates Program Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) within 11/2 Yrs
