Position: Behavior Support Facilitator

Classification/Range: Classified/Range 12
Schedule: 235days per year8 hours per day
IMPORTANT DETAILS:
We are seeking to have someone in place by June to support summer operations. Ideally the selected candidate will also be available to provide limited oncall support after the summer as needed.
POSITION PURPOSE:
A Behavior Support Facilitator will play a key role in the implementation of student behavioral andinstructional support plans and monitor student behavior and performance. The Behavior Support Facilitators daily work is within a classroom and other learning settings directly supporting students and assisting the teacher with instruction learning behavior interventions strategies and supports.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position is based in a juvenile detention facility and requires additional facility specific training provided by the facility. Work hours and days may include weekends as needed. Work may involve implementing crisis prevention/intervention protocols and may involve a risk of injury exposure to contagious diseases verbally and physically hostile students and other adverse conditions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical and mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by employees to successfully perform the essential functions of this classification. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Requires the ability to restrain students using intervention methods on a regular basis multiple times daily students may weigh from 35 to 100 pounds. Requires the ability to lift carry push and pull up to 50 lbs. Requires continuous reaching bending crouching twisting kneeling and repetitive use of arms hands wrists and legs. Physical endurance is strongly encouraged.
