Job Description

Offender Registry Assistant Part Time
Please complete a job application on our job portal at Purpose and Objectives:
The position is responsible for performing specialized technical work for the Reno County Sheriffs Department. This position is responsible for registering persons who are required to register with the Sheriff pursuant to the Kansas Offender Registration Act. An employee in this classification must use considerable initiative and judgment in interpreting or adapting policies procedures and applicable guidelines. Work in this classification involves the use of independent judgment and is performed under general supervision.
Personal conduct and behavior (on duty as well as off) must be such that it does not bring disrepute or unnecessarily endanger the publics trust or confidence in the agency or its members.
Position Requirements and Qualifications: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed in the attached job description are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. Position Requirements:
  1. Must be a US citizen or nonUS citizen able to work in the United States.
  2. High school diploma or G.E.D.
  3. Must be at least 18 years of age.
  4. Candidates in this position may be required to pass a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws regulations or policies:
    1. Record of criminal activity and criminal history using a namedbased record check before employment is offered or before job duties are assigned that might expose them to KCJISsensitive information.
    2. Record of criminal activity and criminal history using a fingerprintbased check within 30 days after initial employment or assignment and before unconditional employment is offered.
  5. Knowledge of law enforcement helpful.
Certifications / Licenses:
  1. Must possess a valid Kansas drivers license.
  2. CIC Full Access Certification.
