Position Overview: Reporting to the Principal this is an ideal role for a lawyer who is confident managing their own files thrives on meaningful client work and wants the freedom and flexibility of a boutique practicewithout sacrificing mentorship collaboration or purpose.
This position is structured for a lawyer who values autonomy is comfortable using virtual tools and is excited to help shape the next phase of the firms growth. This is a highimpact role with real opportunity for leadership and evolution.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide legal advice and representation in family law matters including divorce child custody spousal support child support and property division
Manage files independently from intake through resolution with excellence in legal drafting strategy and communication
Attend court mediations and discoveries; advocate for clients at all stages of litigation and settlement
Maintain regular proactive communication with clients about their case progress and outcomes
Collaborate with a skilled team of clerks intake coordinators and lawyers to deliver seamless client service
Participate in team meetings case strategy discussions and optional business development efforts as desired
Ensure documentation billing and timekeeping are accurate and timely
Qualifications:
3 years of experience practicing family law in Ontario
Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
Proven ability to manage and advance multiple client matters independently
Strong litigation negotiation and clientfacing communication skills
Technologically adept; comfort with remote work and legal software (e.g. LEAP Clio or Lawmatics is a plus)
Professional integrity emotional intelligence and a commitment to delivering high quality legal outcomes
Entrepreneurial mindset with an openness to business development and process improvement
