Want to be a reallife superhero for young people working toward independence Join us as a PartTimeYouth Specialist at our Lighthouse Transitional Living Center! Were looking for someone awesome (like you!) to provide support structure and a whole lot of encouragement to youth as they build a brighter future.
Youll help create a safe stable and respectful environment where trust is mutual and growth is possible. Whether day or night youll be a steady supportive presence young adults can count on. Youll also:
- Foster a space thats safe welcoming and empowering for youth.
- Supervise clients during various shifts (day evening weekend overnight).
- Build respectful relationships while setting fair boundaries and keeping routines on trackthink chores hygiene curfews and checkins.
- Welcome new youth and help them feel at home from day one.
- Make sure youth have access to essentials like food clothing hygiene items and transportation.
- Provide basic medical support (like dispensing meds) and document it accurately.
- Monitor behavior conduct safety checks and respond confidently to emergencies.
- Help keep the facility clean safe and stocked (Food Bank trips included!).
- Coach youth on reallife skills like cooking job hunting budgeting and more.
- Assist with important paperwork (like DHS forms or savings plans) and celebrate progress toward independence.
- Facilitate group activities and house meetings that build community and resolve conflict.
- Share program info with youth families and community partners in person and by phone.
- Help youth not eligible for services connect with other resources.
- Stay collaborative with your team and community connections.
- Keep accurate shift notes logs and reportsyou know the behindthescenes hero stuff.
- Show up for staff meetings trainings and team checkins.
- Jump in when needed to cover phones help coworkers and keep things running smoothly.

MUST HAVES Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/equivalent.
- Youve got at least 1 yearof related experience.
- Travel including transporting clients is required for this position. For YSS insurance purposes you must:
- be 21 years of age
- have a valid stateissued drivers license
- have a clean driving record and
- have adequate insurance coverage per YSS policy.
SHOULD HAVES Preferred Qualifications
- You have a degree in a human services related field.*
- Youve got a way with wordswhether youre writing an email speaking at an event or posting on social. You keep it clear genuine and engaging.
- You stay curious take in new ideas with an open mind and genuinely listen to understandnot just to reply.
- You know how to stretch resources like a pro and keep things running smoothlywhether its supplies schedules or making the most of a tight timeline.
