**This vacancy announcement is to fill three (3) positions. Applicants applying for position numberwill also be considered for position number&.**

This position reports to a Correctional Programs Supervisor at a multicustody male correctional facility and provides case management services to an assigned case load. Job responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:

1. Performing regular periodic classification reviews needs assessments plans job assignments program referrals and regular scheduled oneonone contact for the purposes of correctional and/or supportive counseling.
2. Providing transitional information and assisting with housing and recommendations for the classification upon offender review.
3. Assisting with onsite activities within the facility.
4. Communicating effectively with other staff offenders and the general public.
5. Working under stressful conditions caused by direct contact with incarcerated offenders who can become physically violent and verbally abusive being capable of defending oneself against attack performing crisis interventions to include suicide prevention.
6. Preparing written reports which accurately reflect data reviewed by various sources and reviewing analyzing and evaluating various documents and behavior data gathered from interviews written documentation and personal observation.




Knowledge Skills and Abilities / Competencies


  1. Documented knowledge of case management practices or supportive counseling techniques and/or interviewing techniques for intake assessments.

Other divisions include Administration Compliance & Accreditation Comprehensive Health Services Internal Affairs & Intelligence Operations PostRelease Supervision & Parole Commission and Rehabilitation & Reentry.


The Division of Institutionsis one of the divisions in DAC andemploys a variety of staff operates 56 institutions and is responsible for the care and custody of approximately 30000 incarcerated individuals across North Carolina. Our division categorizes the institutions into 3 custody levels which include minimum medium and close. The Division of Institutions has a duty to provide a secure and safe environment along with the proper care and supervision for every individual in our custody.
