SUMMARY
The Program Director acts as the primary contact for Lincoln County campus (LCC) and its programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Coordinates the recruitment and retention of LCC students; works with area schools Adult Education Continuing Education Running Start and the community to build relationships and transitions to college.
  • Serves as the representative for interactions with Flathead Valley Community College (FVCC) main campus other educational institutions government agencies public and students.
  • Provides leadership mentors and supervises staff; motivates and empowers employees to create environments that promote innovation; sets standards for excellent customer service; assures quality customer services and accurate information dissemination by staff
  • Works with FVCC faculty and area high school instructors and counselors to facilitate develop increase participation and enhance career pathways for students. Works with other FVCC staff on joint planning class schedule development and communications.
  • Promotes encourages and executes programs of continuous assessment and benchmarking of goals programs and services and communicates the results. Facilitates the development and management of campus annual goals.
  • Fosters cooperative relationships with schools community groups and other external agencies to enhance and promote the College.
  • Researches local business and organization partnerships with shared resources and space as a hub for community.
  • Participates actively and with initiative in continuous improvement efforts to provide efficient and quality student services. Keeps abreast of the latest developments in student services to help build strategic initiatives.
  • Oversees Lincoln County campus operations; manages the planning and operations of center facilities computers labs and equipment including maintenance of the physical plant and use by public groups. Performs administrative functions such as but not limited to travel budget record keeping and other business services.
  • Ensures all activities and objectives are accomplished in accordance with college course profiles containing student learning objectives student performance objectives and program evaluation criteria.
  • Provides outreach support and programs to area high schools with career pathways exploration financial literacy and college applications. Provides academic advising and career advising to high school students.
  • Coordinates marketing efforts for LCC with the FVCC marketing department.
  • Provides support for extended learning courses and technical support in maintaining the operational level of interactive technology equipment.
  • Remains current in practices trends and research related to areas of assignment
  • Attends related trainings workshops and professional development
  • Cross trains to perform other departmental and team functions; backfills for staff as needed
  • Actively participates in the development of a climate that promotes and supports innovation and efforts to continuously improve services to students employees and the College
  • Creates and maintains a collaborative and collegial environment with colleagues and maintains effective working relationships
  • Maintains professional ethics and confidentiality of students in accordance with applicable laws and policies
  • Advances the mission of FVCC by serving on or convening committees and contributing in the community in collegerelated activities
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Reports to the Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors degree in related field AND five years of related supervisory managerial and community outreach experience; OR
  • Masters degree in related field AND three years of related supervisory managerial and community outreach experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Masters degree in related field
  • Comprehension of topics unique to Lincoln County
  • Experience in rural settings
  • Experience in a community college or public education setting
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Skill and ability to operate a variety of computer applications including but not limited to Microsoft Office and interactive television and extended learning programs.
  • Skill dedication and aptitude for working with students.
  • Ability to work within policies and procedures of FVCC
  • Ability and willingness to serve as an ambassador for the College by interacting appropriately with the college community and community
  • Ability to maintain effective and positive professional relationships
  • Ability to follow and issue directions
  • Demonstrated communication technology presentation customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to intermittently work nontraditional schedules including evenings weekends etc.
  • Ability to maintain regular and acceptable attendance levels
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check
  • Ability to respond in the event of an emergency
  • This is a Medium Duty job according to the Selected Characteristics of Occupations Defined in the Revised Dictionary of Occupational Titles U.S. Department of Labor and Industry. Medium Duty involves exertion of 2050 pounds of force occasionally and/or 1025 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds continuously to move objects.
