Job Description

JOB TITLE: Credentialing Coordinator/Scheduler

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for scheduling up to 850 cases per month and will work to fill every open room and open space on the schedule. Scheduler will be an integral part of our Front Desk Team and will be valued and a highprofile member of our Center. This position reports to Administrator directly.

Completion of health care professionals credentialing and recredentialing applications. Help to maintain the credentialing database and ensure uptodate information is obtained at all times:

Responsible for monitoring and managing credentialing/recredentialing requirements and to
ensure the collection of all required renewal certifications are on file within the required time
frame.
Provide consistent and timely followup on all outstanding credentialing/recredentialing files.
Prepare and scan credentialing/recredentialing files and other credentialing documentation
into scanning software.
Attend biweekly credentials committee meetings as requested by manager.
Answer credentialing questions and provide support to physicians and physician office staff.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Administrator

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High School
  • 2 years of previous experience scheduling surgeries and/or procedures
  • Experience with a variety of physician offices
  • Understands medical terminology and is comfortable navigating a clinical environment.

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of computer systems programs and spreadsheet applications.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and be familiar with scheduling software.

SKILLS:

  • Skill in written and verbal communication and customer relations.
  • Experience in a medical office as a scheduler.
  • Fast and accurate data entry.
  • Service oriented patient demeanor.
  • Ability to multitask manage time effectively and deliver results.
  • Strict attention to detail.
  • Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel.

ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work effectively with medical staff andphysician offices.
  • Ability to identify analyze and solve problems.
  • Ability to deal courteously and professionally with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment.

  • ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS: Fastpaced office environment with heavy telephone work. Occasional late day finishing tasks.
