Radiology Coordinator

About us

About the role

We are looking for an employee with exceptional interpersonal communication skills and have the ability to create a favorable impression for the organization to all staff patients and the public. Must have a strong sense of team commitment with working with fellow technologists. You will be responsible for greeting and assisting patients putting radiology procedures in automated computer systems and answering the telephone.

Supervision Received: Reports to Manager of Diagnostics

Supervision Exercised: None.

Typical Physical Demands: Requires sitting for long periods of time. Working in office environment. Some bending and stretching required. Working under stress and use of computer telephone fax machine and copier required. Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard.

Typical Working Conditions:Frequent exposure to communicable diseases toxic substances ionizing radiation and other conditions common to a clinic environment. Involves frequent communication with patients and other staff members. Work may be fastpaced and stressful at times. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive.

Responsibilities:(This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)

  1. Greet patients and actively communicate with the radiology modalities to inform them of patient arrival.
  2. Verify diagnostic order in patients chart and enter patient demographic information and exam into automated computer system (s) as needed.
  3. Direct patients to the dressing rooms and give instructions.
  4. Address patients needs as needed while in the radiology waiting room; answer questions regarding patient appointments and testing.
  5. Answers telephone and take accurate phone messages and deliver to appropriate individuals.
  6. Receive requests for power sharing burning of CDs and processes; Print Release of Information Authorization form and completes for obtaining diagnostic images. Import images received from outside facilities.
  7. Prints daily diagnostic schedules from Next Gen.
  8. Prints Arlington Screening Mammogram schedules verifies patient is not too early for routine mammography and prints prior mammogram report.
  9. Checks for reports ordered by outside providers ensures they are signed by Diagnostic Reference and faxes to the referring provider.
  10. Keep work area and patient waiting area neat and orderly.
  11. Able to begin each day at 7:45am and end at 4:45pm.
  12. Maintains patient confidentiality in accordance with appropriate professional conduct and Physicians Easts HIPPA program.
  13. Adhere to department and company policies.
  14. Assist with other duties or projects as needed.
  15. Attends meetings as required.

Location & commitments

Permanent FT role based at our Greenville Arlington location MondayFriday 7:45a.m. 4:45 p.m.

Overtime may be required to ensure patients are taken care tasks are completed and calls are returned in a timely manner.

Weekend work is rare but can occasionally be necessary.

Candidate requirements:High School Diploma; Medical office experience required; computer experience; good customer service skills. Needs strong computer skills; will be working with multiple computer software/programs.
