Job Description

Inspire and Belmont Day School we foster intellectual curiosity honor differences and empower meaningful contribution with excellence respect honesty responsibility caring and Language Teacher Lower School Spanish (parttime)Belmont Day School seeks a dynamic skilled and creative Spanish teacher for grades prekindergarten through four. This person will be an integral member of the world language department and a member of gradelevel teams. The lower school world language curriculum is currently unitbased with a focus on exposure to aural and reading comprehension vocabulary oral activities and cultural aspects of the language. This is a parttime (.5 FTE) exempt and benefiteligible position. It is a tenmonth position and reports to the lower school head. This position is not eligible for employersponsored offer competitive salaries and benefits as well as a compensation strategy that prioritizes pay equity for faculty with similar years of teaching experience and relevant advanced degrees. Based on the minimum years of experience required for this role and the parttime nature the salary range for this position is $33350 to $49575 for twenty years of prior teaching an inaugural lower school Spanish curriculum. Please note: this work will be in addition to the role itself and would include stipend time for summer authentic handson materials and engaging resources to design and deliver rigorous effective compelling and developmentally appropriate curricular to ensure academic excellence namely the ability of students to approach novel tasks with the confidence mindset and skills to accomplish them with lower school gradelevel teams and the world language department to support cocurricular programming and the development of children beyond the careful anecdotal and assessment records to inform and write comprehensive student regular constructive and specific feedback to students to encourage their growth and improvement as language and maintain strong homeschool partnerships with families to ensure students to fostering a diverse and inclusive community in and out of the students with varying learning styles and profiles through differentiation. Engage with students routinely by providing coverage at lunch recess dismissal or other duties as additional responsibilities as diversity equity inclusion and social justice concepts and themes into course content and use these to inform teaching classroom management and family relationships. Strong collaborative and interpersonal written and oral communication skills.
