The Team
The Prince George Rural and Remote Team is a small established team dedicated to supporting children and families of the Kwadacha (Fort Ware) Tsay Keh Dene and Lheidli Tenneh Bands as well as those from here who have relocated to Prince George. Known for providing creative and innovative grassroots social work practice in complex and dynamic circumstances this team collaborates closely with local Indigenous communities internal Ministry teams and partner agencies through a communitycentered approach to ensure children grow up in safe nurturing environments. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage with and learn from Indigenous people while making a meaningful impact on childrens wellbeing.

The Role
The Child Protection Worker Rural and Remote Teamassesses and responds to concerns of child abuse and neglect working closely with children youth families and local agencies to develop safety plans and ensure wellbeing. Your work will strengthen families and communities helping them build the capacity to protect and nurture their children. This is a meaningful opportunity for those who are passionate about working in rural locations valuing the deep connections with culture and community while practicing from a strengthsbased and relationshipcentered approach.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
