Human Resources is a strategic trusted business partner supporting professional growth and wellness service excellence academic leadership and resource management. The Human Resources Department at Algonquin College is currently seeking a dynamic and motivated student to join our team. This exciting opportunity offers handson experience in a fastpaced HR environment and the chance to support a wide range of functions while gaining valuable industry knowledge.
The successful candidate will assist the Human Resources team in a variety of areas including client service employee onboarding employee engagement recruitment records management labour relations and event coordination.
Responsibilities will include supporting general office operations preparing materials and communications organizing employee files and records and helping with the planning and execution of Human Resources events and initiatives. The student will also assist with responding to employee and manager inquiries related to Human Resources policies and procedures offering valuable insight into client service within a Human Resources environment.

Required Qualifications
Currently studying at Algonquin College within the Business Administration Human Resources or other related field;
This position is funded through the College Student Employment Program (CSEP). Applicants must be eligible for CSEP.
You must be currently enrolled in a fulltime program. The following students are not eligible: Second Career Apprenticeship Programs International students Algonquin College employees paying a reduced tuition Collaborative programs with the University of Ottawa or Carleton University and all programs that are not Ministryapproved;
You must be a Canadian citizen a Permanent Resident or a Protected Person/Convention Refugee within the meaning of subsection 95(2) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (Canada) prior to the application deadline date;
You must demonstrate a financial need by successfully applying for OSAP or outof province financial aid funding
For more information on CSEP: GPA of 2.7 or greater;
Demonstrated selfstarted and ability to adapt quickly to a demanding fastpaced environment;
Strong technical skills;
Proficient communication skills (oral and written);
A proven ability to exercise a high level of confidentiality discretion diplomacy and sound judgment pertaining to access to private and secure information;
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint);
Previous work experience in an office environment would be considered an asset;
Previous work experience in Human Resources would also be considered an asset;
All work performed by students becomes the property of Algonquin College.
*Please note the student payrate is fixed at $17.20 per hour.
This position requires regular onsite work at Algonquin Colleges Woodroffe (Ottawa) Campus.
