Key Responsibilities:
Patrol & Monitoring: Patrol campus on foot or by vehicle; monitor surveillance; enforce policies and hall regulations; intervene in disturbances involving drugs or alcohol.
Emergency Response: Respond to medical and mental health emergencies; administer first aid CPR/AED and Narcan; coordinate with counseling and emergency services.
Training & Preparedness: Conduct safety trainings and drills for faculty staff and students including active threat and evacuation procedures.
Reporting & Investigation: Prepare incident reports (including Title IX); conduct investigations using footage and witness accounts; liaise with law enforcement.
Safety Oversight: Identify and report security or safety hazards; check alarm systems; respond to fire alarms and assist emergency personnel.
Traffic & Assistance: Direct vehicle/pedestrian traffic; monitor parking; assist community members with safety needs and directions.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree in Public Safety or related field (or 1 year completed in such a program).
12 years experience in Campus Safety Security Law Enforcement or Military.
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse campus environment or commitment to do so as an employee of St. Norbert College.
Valid drivers license and ability to operate fleet vehicles.
CPR/First Aid/AED certified (or able to obtain); eligibility for pepper spray and Taser certification.
Knowledge of campus safety policies and emergency response strategies.
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse populations and foster inclusive environments.
Proficient in departmental software (e.g. Gmail Google Docs); able to use the Campus Notification System.
Excellent written and verbal communication; able to write reports and follow written instructions.
Strong problemsolving decisionmaking and organizational skills.
Works well independently and collaboratively; able to stay calm under pressure.
The College may consider any equivalent amount of credentials licensures training or experience that provides the necessary knowledge skills and abilities to perform the duties and responsibilities of this job.
