Job Description

JOB TITLE Cheerleading Sponsor Winter

REPORTS TO: Athletic Director

NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB: To instruct all students in the fundamental skills and knowledge of the sport or activity. To provide an atmosphere for successful individual development through monitoring evaluating and reinforcing.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Supervise all practices.

2. Supervise cheerleaders at all events.

3. Organize and conduct cheerleader tryouts.

4. Make arrangements for approved travel and supervise students on trips.

5. Help keep an accurate and uptodate inventory.

6. Assume responsibility for constant care of equipment and facilities used in the program.

7. Have a thorough understanding of the rules and regulations regarding the Cheerleading Program.

8. Perform other duties or tasks related to the Cheerleading Program as requested.

9. May be responsible for supervising students on outoftown activities. This may involve staying overnight.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

1. Recommend students for award.

2. Recommend facility or maintenance improvements.

3. Communicate regularly with supervisors regarding the progress and development of the Cheerleading Program.

4. Prepare a detailed annual report highlighting the activity accomplishments participation levels and recommendations for its improvement.

EMPLOYEES ARE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR ALL FUNCTIONS OF THIS JOB

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND MENTAL ABILITY:

. Have fundamental knowledge of the activity.

. Ability to select from a variety of instruction methods to teach activity objectives.

. Knowledge of CPR and First Aid.

EDUCATION LICENSE CERTIFICATION OR FORMAL TRAINING

. Possess all certificates required for the State of Wyoming.

EQUIPMENT USED:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

. Ability to sit on a bus for hour after hour.

. Ability to help injured participants.

ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

. Occupationally exposed to bloodborne pathogens and other potentially infectious materials based on task and procedures required.

. Ability to adjust to a variety of temperature settings.
