Job Description
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Development Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role you will play a crucial part in the development and execution of new product development (NPD) projects contributing to the design prototyping and implementation of innovative solutions. You will collaborate closely with crossfunctional teams vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure the successful launch of highquality costeffective products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in all phases of the NPD process from concept to launch contributing to design reviews feasibility studies and risk assessments.
- Identify evaluate and onboard new vendors based on quality cost and capability.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing vendors ensuring consistent quality ontime delivery and competitive pricing.
- Collaborate with the engineering sourcing and manufacturing teams to optimize product design for costeffectiveness performing cost analysis and identifying potential costsaving opportunities.
- Develop and document manufacturing processes for new products ensuring scalability and efficiency.
- Design build and test prototypes to validate designs and identify areas for improvement.
- Troubleshoot technical issues during development and production stages developing and implementing effective solutions.
- Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation including specifications drawings and test reports.
- Collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams including engineering manufacturing sourcing and quality assurance.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing process and design improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
- 14 years of experience in a product development or manufacturing environment.
- Solid understanding of NPD processes and product development methodologies.
- Experience with vendor development and management is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g. CAD) and engineering analysis tools.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Experience with cost estimation and value engineering principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
