About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated Aviation Medical Officer to assist our Chief Medical Officer (CMO) in providing topnotch aviation and occupational medical services on a Part Time basis. This role is crucial in ensuring the health and safety of our employees and applicants across various business areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the CMO with aviation medical matters including passenger medical clearances infectious disease followups and onboard medical issues
- Conduct medical examinations and assessments for employees and applicants ensuring accurate and uptodate medical records
- Provide Medical Review Officer (MRO) services under the companys Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Programme
- Perform general occupational medical assessments and fitnessforwork evaluations
- Contribute to or manage medical projects and research to achieve business objectives
- Assist with preemployment medical assessments and workplace drug testing processes
- Conduct routine medical examinations of Group pilots under the supervision of the CMO and Aviation Medical Officer
- Collaborate with the Occupational Safety and Health/Environmental (OSH/E) team to conduct workplace assessments and address health concerns.
Qualifications:
- Broad postgraduate experience in aviation and occupational medicine
- Background in general practice emergency medicine or intensive care is valuable
- NZ Registered Medical Practitioner trainee or Fellow with the Faculty of Occupational Medicine
- NZCAA Medical Examiner Grade 1 certification.
