Job Description
Under the direction/supervision of the clinical team you will perform direct patient services tasks.
Accountabilities:
- Assisting with patient activities of daily living mobilization and transport
- Encourage and support patients in their own care and rehabilitation to foster a sense of autonomy.
- Observe and document changes in patient condition and mental status; they will report any concerns to the nursing team.
- Communicate effectively with patients families and other healthcare professionals ensuring clear an accurate information sharing.
- Follow care plans delegated to them by nursing team within their scope of practice.
- Maintain a safe environment they are involved in ensuring a space that adheres with universal falls precautions.
- Communicate need to clerical or resource staff to order supplies
- Responsible for daily restocking of supplies in patient care rooms and supply storage areas
- Maintain and distribute departmental monitoring equipment
- Contributing to the maintenance of a safe work environment
Qualifications :
- Registered with Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA)
- Personal support worker certificate required from an accredited institution
- Basic knowledge of aseptic techniques
- Current CPR
- Recent related experience working with patients in a rehabilitation setting
- Recent experience working in a highly technical patient care environment
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication and comprehension skills
- Flexibility to meet unit needs
- Ability to work well with team members
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Meditech system
- Must demonstrate Oslers Values of Respect Excellence Service Compassion Innovation and Collaboration
- Excellent attendance punctuality and work record
- Ability to travel between and work at all Osler sites as required
- Able to handle physical requirements of the job (ability to lift at least 2530 pounds)
Additional Information :
Currently Days/Evenings 8 hours including weekends and statutory holidays
(subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)
Salary:
Minimum: $30.76 per hour
Maximum: $31.38 per hour
