The BNSF Railway Finance/Accounting Department provides innovative strategic solutions and worldclass financial services to support BNSFs overall performance. The department is committed to maintaining integrity and recognizing the companys successes ensuring that BNSF remains a leader in the railway industry. Within the Finance Department several specialized departments contribute to its overall mission: Controller Revenue Management Strategic Sourcing Tax Treasury and Strategic Studies. Each department is vital in managing BNSFs financial health and strategic financial planning. These departments work collaboratively to secure BNSFs economic stability and support its growth and innovation within the railway industry.
This is a fulltimepositionlocated in Fort Worth TX. For certain positions including this one employees can work one day per week remotely. Our leaders also foster a culture where work life balance which requires flexibility for when life happens is important and respected.
Travel is minimal to none
Key responsibilities may include:
Overseeing SOX compliance for BNSFs Finance organization including verifying controls have been completed by the related business partners timely and accurately
Manage documentation of identified deficiencies and remediation efforts and communicating with Corporate Audit Services (CAS) to track status
Help manage the process of preparing quarterly and annual financial packages and other deliverables requested from BNSFs parent company
Assist in the preparation of various footnotes and other disclosures for quarterly and annual filings with the SEC and other regulatory agencies
Help manage various audits and reviews performed by independent auditors
Assist in the preparation and review of various ad hoc financial reporting requests and other special projects
Daily work is conducted in an indoor office environment.

Basic Qualifications:
- Able to work in the US without company sponsorship now AND in the future.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting
- Minimum of 2 years experience in financerelated field as applicable
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- History of reviewing and/or preparing SOX controls and SOXrelated documentation
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities
- Strong project management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Public accounting experience
- Masters degree in accounting or business administration
