- Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
Art Teacher Requirements
- Provides a challenging studentfocused environment based on the Art standards which incorporates multimodal learning within a collaborative school climate that welcomes and supports teachers students and parents
- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize the available time for art instruction.
- Teaches knowledge and skills in visual and performing arts; including drawing painting lettering design art history performances and threedimensional art and other appropriate learning activities.
- Provides instruction by which students develop aesthetic concepts and appreciation and the ability to make qualitative judgments about art art appreciation and what constitutes art.
- Conducts ongoing assessment of student skills and learning in artistic techniques and expression and modifies instructional methods to fit individual students needs including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.
- Demonstrates techniques in activities such as drawing painting and modeling using standard and teacherprepared instructional aids.
Afterschool duties
- Assist and supervise children during all activities.
- Actively engage with children at all times with the goal of fostering the positive development of each child and the group
- Assist children with meal/snack time and cleanup.
- Cleanup site when children depart. Inspect and return supplies to appropriate place. Follow proper cleaning requirements and procedures.
- Ensure that site appearance cleanliness and safe environment are appropriately maintained
- Build a positive relationship with each afterschool participant and foster positive connections between participants.
- Interact professionally and appropriately with children parents and community members and partners.
Qualifications :
You are qualified if you have:
Knowledge of current art instructional teaching methods and educational pedagogy as well as differentiates instruction based upon student learning styles. Knowledge of art curriculum and concepts.
Bachelors Degree or higher in Fine Arts/visual Arts with teaching qualification or equivalent
A valid US teachers certificate with demonstrated skills OR minimum of 2 years of teaching Art experience
An energetic personality with ability to engage young children in a creative manner
The ability to integrate all areas of the curriculum while teaching Art and Integrated Art standards
Experience modifying the curriculum to accommodate learners
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with children and adults
