Job Description
In 2024 the discipline of law at Griffith University was ranked 37th in the world and 2nd in Australia (2024 Academic Ranking of World Universities).
The Law School is seeking an experienced Lecturer (Level B) to support highquality teaching and to carry out activities to maintain and develop scholarly and/or professional activities with a particular interest in those with experience teaching Administrative Law Ethics and/or Evidence.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Foster an outstanding student experience and encourage active participation and engagement in learning and teaching across the spectrum of the Universitys undergraduate and postgraduate program suite facilitating high quality studentcentred learning activities consistent with Griffith Graduates of the Future strategy.
- Continuously improve teaching practice through professional development and critical reflection informed by a range of evaluation approaches.
- Inform the quality innovation currency and evidencebase of teaching and learning through scholarly activities commitments and outputs.
- Support high quality learning and teaching strategies that facilitate improved student retention employability and successful outcomes for students.
- Provide educational contributions through responsibility for academic courses.
- Contribute to the advancement of knowledge through a balanced research portfolio of highquality outputs that demonstrate impact.
- Undertake research that has the potential to achieve impact on policy and practice in the wider community.
- Contribute to the enhancement of the School/Department standing and reputation by promoting educational activities with external communities.
This is a continuing fulltime position primarily based at either Griffith University Gold Coast or Brisbane South (Nathan). As Griffith is a multisite University you may be required to work across other locations. Griffith Universitys campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul Yuggera Jagera Turrbal Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
Salary Range
The fulltime base salary will be Lecturer (Level B) in the range $113226 $134460 per annum plus 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $132474 $157318 per annum.
Qualifications :
The successful candidate will have a doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline or field.
You will also have:
- Demonstrated ability to deliver highquality teaching and to engage students effectively.
- Proven ability to develop and implement innovative curriculum and teaching materials.
- Demonstrated experience in providing academic support and mentoring to students.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and engagement in scholarly activities relevant to teaching.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct and publish quality research.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to interdisciplinary projects.
