Job Description

As Procurement Manager at Smiths Detection Americas you will oversee the procurement execution processes and lead a team of buyers to ensure efficient timely and costeffective supply. You will collaborate crossfunctionally to develop and implement strategies that enhance customer service strengthen supplier relationships and drive cost savings.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of procurement professionals focused on execution and tactical sourcing.
  • Ensure effective execution of purchase orders supplier communications and delivery tracking.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance procurement efficiency and responsiveness.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement activities with production and project timelines.
  • Monitor supplier performance resolve delivery or quality issues and foster continuous improvement.
  • Support strategic sourcing initiatives by providing data insights and operational expertise.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

Education: Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Business Engineering or related field; 5 additional years of work experience in relevant field may be accepted in lieu of a bachelors degree; Masters degree and/or Professional certification (e.g. CPSM CIPS) are a plus.

Experience: 5 years of experience in Supply Chain with at least 3 years in a leadership role is essential. 5 years of experience in Procurement is desirable. 10 years of experience in Supply Chain is desirable.

Technical Knowledge skills/other attributes:

  • Experience in a highvalue lowvolume and large number of SKUs business environment is desirable.
  • Previous leadership experience with the ability to inspire and motivate others is essential.
  • Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement systems tools and best practices.
  • Proven ability to manage crossfunctional teams and complex supply chains.
  • Excellent communication negotiation and analytical skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and influence stakeholders and supplier partners at all levels is essential.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to make datadriven decisions and drive continuous improvement is essential.
  • US Citizen preferred; ability to pass a background check and security vetting required

The compensation for this position ranges from $60328.00 $140767.00/yr and will vary depending on factors including level of school completed and type of position requirements for skills whether technical or nontechnical.  We are committed to ensuring our interns are fairly compensated for their valuable contributions.
