ROLE SUMMARY
The Senior Associate Digital Laboratory Solutions is responsible for supporting the laboratory environment at Pfizers Bothell WA R&D labs. Working in close collaboration with laboratory scientists the role will support all Digital technology in the laboratory space including PCs and specialized lab equipment.
The position will also be responsible for participating in laboratoryfocused projects such as deployments and upgrades of enterprise and instrumentationspecific software installation and configuration of servers and databases etc.
This role will work in close partnership with peers across the Digital Laboratory Solutions organization to ensure consistency with global standards and may be called upon to work on global projects.
Work will be executed individually or through project teams leveraging the successful candidates technical and / or subject matter expertise to achieve results.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as a key technical contact for Digital Laboratory Solutions at Pfizers R&D labs in Bothell WA.
Collaborate with local stakeholders and as needed global Digital Laboratory Solutions peers to understand document deliver and support the laboratory data workflows needed at the site.
Engage in active and frequent communication with laboratory leaders and staff keeping them proactively informed of any changes or incidents that may impact their work.
Perform system administration duties for critical lab hardware and information systems.
Manage local projects and coordinate global initiatives relevant to the Bothell site.
Broker communications between portfolio owners vendors and service providers to ensure that solutions align with business needs.
Serve as a technical escalation point for onsite outsourced service providers supporting the lab benchtop environment
Implement and support the computer operating system security compliance application and data workflows for each type of laboratory system.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in a relevant field (Information Technology Computer Science Engineering Life Sciences)with three years of experience implementing and supporting Digital laboratory solutions in the life science industry; OR Masters degree with one year of relevant experience; OR Associates degree with six years of relevant experience; OR Eight years of relevant experience with a high school diploma or equivalent
Understanding of systems supporting chromatography mass spectrometry flow cytometry nextgeneration sequencing etc.
Understanding of lab data management practices.
Experience in multiple operating environments (e.g. Windows Linux).
Strong interpersonal communication skills and a track record of fostering positive customer relationships.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Expertise in deploying and supporting multitiered application architecture
Security best practices and emerging cloud (XaaS) services impacting laboratory systems
Scripting and/or software development experience
Strong Windows and/or Linux administration experience
Understanding of networking concepts and ability to effectively identify and resolve issues TCP/IP DNS
Experience working with major scientific vendors such as Waters Agilent Thermo Fisher
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to carry desktop computers and maneuver around lab equipment / furniture.
NONSTANDARD WORK SCHEDULE TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
May need to perform occasional work outside of normal business hours in order to accommodate customer priorities.
May need to travel to Andover Mass or other R&D lab sites.
