Wind helped us discover our planet and now it can help us preserve it. Our vision is to provide the wings for a shipping revolution supported by our two strong parent companies: Alfa Laval and Wallenius.

Would you like to contribute to this change Join our fastgrowing highly competent and passionate team in Stockholm Sweden. Oceanbird AB is a 50/50 joint venture owned by Alfa Laval and Wallenius but operated as an independent company. We are developing wing sail technology for the global shipping market and are looking for a senior project leader in product development to drive existing and future wind propulsion projects for our team in Flemingsberg.

Oceanbird is at an exciting turning point having just moved into reality with a fullscale prototype of our first wind propulsion unit in Landskrona and later this year a wing sail on the ship Tirranna. At the same time we are about to launch a project for our next wind propulsion unit family. Therefore we need to strengthen our development team with an experienced project leader. The products we develop include mechanics electrics and electronics as well as software and you will work closely with a dedicated engineering team. What will you do

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating planning and driving the entire development project.

  • Maintaining a visual project plan.

  • Leading and driving project meetings.

  • Organizing project development tasks.

  • Coordinating and communicating with crossfunctional teams such as customer projects sales and production.

Who are you

To succeed in this role you should have:

  • Hold at least a masters degree in aerospace mechanical civil or maritime engineering or equivalent.

  • At least 5 years of experience in leading large development projects preferably with large structures.

  • A selfdriven and selfmotivated attitude.

  • Excellent communications skills. Working language English.

  • Strong teamwork skills thriving in collaborative environments to reach common goals and contribute to sustainable shipping.

In addition it is beneficial to have experience in one or more of the following:

  • Handson experience in product development.

  • Working crossfunctionally with control systems mechanical and structural engineers to ensure complete system performance.

  • Experience within the marine industry and familiarity with DNV requirements.

Being a passionate sailor who always trims their sails for maximum performance is a plus!

This role is located in Flemingsberg Stockholm.
