Billing Assistant

Location: Yorkshire Clinic Bingley

Hours: 37.5 hours per week Fulltime

Salary: Dependent on experience Benefits

Summary:
The Yorkshire Clinic is one of West Yorkshires leading private hospitals set in three acres of woodland in the grounds of Cottingley Hall near Bingley. The hospital opened in 1982 and currently has 57 bedrooms including one twinbedded room all with ensuite facilities.

By investing in advanced medical technology the hospital offers a wide range of treatments and services. The four fully equipped theatres all with ultra clean air technology are particularly suitable for orthopaedic procedures such as arthroscopy hip and knee replacement.

Treatments at the clinic include knee cartilage surgery knee arthroscopy knee ligament surgery cataract surgery and shoulder muscle repair. There is also one theatre especially suitable for minor local anaesthetic procedures.

The role:

We currently have a great opportunity for a Billing Assistant to join our team at Yorkshire Clinic based in Bingley. The purpose of this role is to assist the Business Office in meeting customer service standards billing and accounting objectives. The main task is to raise invoices for patients using SAP ISH in line with company policy.

The role of Billing Assistant will undertake the normal invoicing expected of a Billing Assistant and the more complex invoicing upon completion of training. There will be no line management responsibilities however the successful candidate as a member of the team will need to ensure they display the values underpinning The Ramsay Way. The role is fast paced varied and includes a variety of administration duties. Working as part of a team and alone the role is suited for a candidate who is proactive and a forward thinker.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To raise invoices on SAP following checking and auditing the correct data has been entered posting consultant fees.
  • Liaising with other departments / insurers / companies to ensure the invoice information is correct and to tariff.
  • Ownership and accountability of issues through to resolution.
  • Deal with a range of enquiries / administration duties.
  • Working to KPIs reducing errors.
  • Taking card and cash payments.
  • Submitting Invoices to various insurers via an online system and rectify any failures.

Essential:

  • Current demonstrable experience of invoicing in the SAP systems.
  • The candidate needs to have good interpersonal skills and to be able to work under pressure to assist in the team achieving targets.
  • Good attention to detail ensuring for audit and data quality the information processed received and correct.
  • Understand the different patient pathways ensuring a level of detail and accuracy is maintained.
  • Understand/have knowledge of how Insurance Companies operate/work.
  • Excellent customer service both face to face and over the telephone.
  • Good computer skills requiring basic knowledge of Microsoft Word Excel Outlook.
  • Excellent English & Maths competencies.
