The Opportunity

The School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at UNSW is seeking a Lecturer for a teaching and research role. This is an exciting opportunity to join the UNSW Nuclear Innovation Centre where you will design and develop engaging learning activities resources and assessments across diverse learning environments. Youll contribute to innovative teaching approaches supporting students individually and as a cohort to enhance their learning progression and employability.

As a mentor and supervisor you will help shape the next generation of academics through HDR supervision and guidance. Your expertise will be instrumental in designing and delivering courses for UNSWs nuclear engineering education programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels as well as the delivery of specialised training courses. Depending on your specific expertise you will have opportunities to teach courses in nuclear physics reactor physics radiation shielding neutronics reactor kinetics and nuclear engineering design.

Beyond teaching you will have the opportunity to pursue your own groundbreaking research in particle transport radiationmatter interaction and reactor physics. Youll engage in individual and collaborative research producing scholarly output aligned with disciplinary standards. Under limited supervision you will design nuclear research projects in areas such as theoretical and applied nuclear physics and the development of nuclear materials.

This role offers the opportunity to drive innovation support cuttingedge advancements and contribute to UNSWs reputation as a leader in nuclear engineering education and research.

The position of Lecturer reports to the Head of School and has no direct reports.
