About the role:
Our Nalco Water Mining/Heavy division requires a Field Service Technician to service our clients in Gladstone. Your role will include servicing and maintaining critical chemical dosing equipment conducting regular site checks and liaising with key stakeholders at various mining/heavy industrial sites.
This role will suit a handson individual wanting to learn as extensive technical and sales training will be provided. You will be supported with mentoring as you build your expertise with the innovative technologies that our customers utilise. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys visiting mining and heavy industrial sites building relationships with customer contacts is comfortable being handson doing basic maintenance of equipment and has an inquisitive nature.
This role may require travel to client sites in the coal and mining industries and other key customers in the region so there may be a need for overnight stays.
Key responsibilities will include:
Equipment testing and maintenance collecting process samples and ensuring the optimal application of chemical treatment programs.
Working as a team to assist with the troubleshooting of equipment and technical problems in a timely manner to ensure ongoing chemical treatment of process unit operations.
Developing strong client relationships by driving value added and focused service delivery.
Managing customer inventories and product delivery
Gaining a better understanding of our infield process services.

To be successful ideally you will preferably have the following:
Have a trade qualification or relevant technical experience in mining or heavy industry.
An interest in being handson with chemical dosing systems and customer processes
Strong technical problemsolving ability.
A desire to work in the mineral processing industry.
A strong aptitude for customer service.
Can perform both individually and in a team environment.
An innate ability to quickly develop rapport and build strong working relationships with users of the products and chemical treatment programs.
A proactive approach to learning the technical aspects of the business.
High commitment to Safety Environment Occupational Health and Quality.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
