Job Description

ATCOs Australian operations are headquartered in Perth Western Australia and specialise in creating innovative customer focused energy and infrastructure solutions. ATCO owns and operates Western Australias largest gas distribution network with more than 750000 connection points and 14000km of pipelines.

ATCO Gas Australia is seeking a skilled Gas Utilisation Inspector to be based in Jandakot with regular travel across the metro and regional areas of Western Australia. In this role you will lead GClass inspections investigate gas incidents and compliance breaches and provide expert technical advice to contractors customers and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections and reinspections on new and additional gasfitting work to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Issue Notices of Defects and Inspectors Orders for noncompliant installations monitor compliance and action rectifications.
  • Lead investigations into gasfitting breaches and incidents preparing reports for enforcement actions.
  • Provide technical guidance on gas distribution projects fault finding and problemsolving.
  • Deliver training sessions and awareness packages on gas safety and compliance to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Foster relationships and collaborate with contractors consultants government agencies and internal stakeholders to achieve safe gas utilisation outcomes.

About You:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of ATCOs Inspection Policy Statement and Plan. The candidate will bring experience issuing Notices of Defects to gasfitters or Inspectors Orders to customers (or equivalent) and effectively monitor compliance with rectification notices. Additionally you will bring valuable experience in leading investigations into unauthorized gasfitting work and gas installation incidents preparing comprehensive investigative reports for enforcement action.

Exposure & Experience

Essential:

  • Building & EnergyClass G Gas Fitting Permit
  • Considerable technical knowledge of gas industry regulations coupled with significant experience in industrial commercial and domestic gas appliance testing.
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency in incident investigation and report writing.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Preferred:
  • Building & Energy Designation as an Inspector (Gas)
  • Certificate IV in Government Investigations
