Job Description

Franklin Pierce University (FPU) is seeking a Graduate Assistant (GA) for Diversity and Inclusion to support the universitys efforts to foster an inclusive and equitable campus environment through programming advocacy and administrative support. This position plays a key role in engaging students from diverse backgrounds supporting affinity groups and implementing initiatives that promote equity and belonging. This GA will work collaboratively with students faculty and staff to create a welcoming and supportive campus environment.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in planning promoting and executing diversityfocused events workshops and initiatives.
  • Support multicultural and affinity student organizations with programming leadership development and advocacy.
  • Develop and implement programming that enhances cultural awareness and fosters dialogue on diversityrelated topics.
  • Assist in stocking and maintaining food pantry locations on campus.
  • Collaborate with campus departments and student organizations to ensure diversity equity and inclusion initiatives are integrated across campus.
  • Assist in maintaining an evenly balanced programming calendar that supports all student populations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree.
  • Candidate must be accepted to Franklin Pierce graduate school before GA application will be considered.
  • 12 years of experience in student leadership diversity programs or related initiatives preferred.
  • Strong commitment to diversity equity inclusion and social justice.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and eventplanning skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse populations.
  • Experience with marketing social media and digital outreach.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and eventplanning software.

This is a 2year position determined by program of study. Compensation includes a stipend and graduate tuition waiver. Expected to work 20 hours per week Monday Friday withflexibility for weekend and evening programs as needed. Some travel within the campus or other area may be required for events.
