Curtis a Rehlko company The Senior Failure Analysis Technician will be responsible for the analysis of the design and performance of circuits components and manufacturing assembly issues for electronic motor speed controllers. This role will provide Failure Analysis reports to internal and external customers and drive / initiate corrective actions. The Senior Failure Analysis Technician will design and create failure analysis test fixtures and methods.
The Failure Analysis Engineer role involves test and possible disassembly of workbench friendly (under 15lb) devices that are suspected of failures verifying or absolving them of faults and troubleshooting faults to the component level. Photographs are taken along the way; a database is updated and if necessary a root cause analysis report is written.
Essential Functions:
Specify and perform configuration changes and maintenance for electric vehicle test beds used for engineering failure analysis and testing of products. Specify maintenance procedures and document test platforms with schematics and drawing documentation.
Acquire interpret and prepare experimental data for presentation.
Design build and carry out laboratory testing and experiments to prove or disprove clearly stated hypotheses. Participate in this entire process from concept through reporting.
Provide design details where lacking and recommend modifications to designs and manufacturing process as required.
Compile and maintain data taken from test operations.
Maintain records and documentation using company computer networks.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Responsibility to apply a high level of analog and digital electronic circuit theory knowledge principles of electronic circuits and fundamentals of electronic testing procedures.
Responsible to design program and operate computer based data acquisition equipment Expertise in the operation of electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes multimeters signal generators power supplies and digital device programmers.
Perform analysis and debug embedded microprocessor based electronic systems.
Familiarity with use of emulators logic analyzers and software debugging tools a plus. All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum twoyear technical degree or equivalent (test and failure analysis) experience and training in a related discipline.
Bachelors degree is preferred in electrical engineering or physics
Minimum 3 years of related experience in test and failure analysis
Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams and be able to recognize the components on a circuit assembly.
Proper and extensive use of power supplies Multimeters oscilloscopes curve tracers
Ability to hand solder remove and replace surface mount and throughhole components
Familiarity with hand tools and mechanical disassembly of electronic hardware
Familiarity with electronic fabrication and manufacturing processes
Understand the function of bipolar transistors Field Effect transistors Op Amps Logic ICs and embedded microprocessor technologies.
Software familiarity is a plus
Experience in consumer/industrial electronic repair on component level is a plus
Some experience in photographic techniques is a plus
PC literate with heavy experience in MS Office and databases
Good record keeping communications and writing skills
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

The salary range for this position $95000$ specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates experience their education and the work location. Available benefits include medical dental vision & 401k.
