Position Summary The Clinical Nutrition Manager is responsible for the clinical aspects of the nutritional services department meal service as well as managing the duties of the Clinical Dieticians on staff.
Essential Function Gathers and records information for completion of a nutritional assessment on consulted patients or patients identified at high nutritional risk. Responsible for maintaining adherence to clinical policies and procedures. Maintains the patient tray ticketing system and interface with electronic medical records Proficient in assessment of health literacy for individual patients with delivery of appropriate nutritional education as warranted. Communicates consistently with outpatient diabetes educator and participates in the DiabetesEducation board meeting. Competent in providing education for patients with diabetes. Includes anthropometric measures procedures weight history exams pertinent laboratory data medical tests findings from nutritionfocused physicals current and past information related to personal medical family and social history in assessments. Identifies and prioritizes a Nutrition Diagnosis (es) if appropriate based on assessment data. Documents the nutrition diagnosis using standardized language and written statements that include problem etiology signs and symptoms and reevaluates and revises nutrition diagnosis (es) when additional assessment data becomes available. Plans and implements nutrition intervention in collaboration with patients/clients caregivers Interdisciplinary team and other health care professionals. Bases intervention/plan of care on best available research evidencebased guidelines policies program standards and best practices. Identify patient/clientcentered plans goals and expected outcomes. Monitors nutrition interventions and goals. Evaluates and adjusts interventions and goals to improve outcomes as needed. Uses comparative standards to estimate nutrition needs as well as body weight BMI and desired growth patterns. Compare and monitor data with nutrition prescription/goals or reference standard (criteria). Adheres to and follows initiative related to patient experience. Reports to and depart from work on time and as scheduled. Performs other duties as assigned and necessary. Must be able to handle stress while maintaining composure in situations with potential escalation of patient of employees. Responsible for an uptodate diet manual. Participates with neonatal unite in QAPI process. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows and adheres to TRMC vaccine policy(s) mandated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Work Experience Three to five years of clinical and nutrition related work experience preferred.
Education Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist by the Commission of Dietetics registration required. Licensed Dietitian by State of Texas is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certified within 30 days of hire date.
