*This position requires in office support 5 days a week*
You have the unique opportunity to join our RSM team in a tax engagement support services (TESS) specialist role that will allow you to utilize your strong attention to detail communication and technical skills. The ideal candidate thrives in a fastpaced environment has a natural curiosity to learn and is eager to proactively support client teams and strategic initiatives. In this position you will develop and apply an indepth understanding of the overall tax return process and technical expertise in order to execute and maintain standardized tax processing practices within the TESS Center of Excellence (COE) as well as provide tax support in various areas.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Printing and assembling tax returns utilizing firm software tools and Route Sheet instructions in the workflow tool to ensure all required client deliverables are included in documents saved to document management system and for delivery to external clients.
- New client setup tax organizers scanning of client workpapers if applicable tax return delivery workflow reporting and due date tracking as well as for meeting expectations for timeliness responsiveness accuracy and service quality.
- Preparation of tax client documents such as engagement letters statements of work and other requested deliverables.
- Using deep understanding of the overall tax return process takes ownership of the efile process including monitoring and releasing external client tax returns to the taxing authorities ensuring correct returns are released and all filing deadlines are timely met.
- Track for acceptance transmission errors and rejections and resolve as appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
- High school diploma or GED
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Strong technical aptitude able to quickly master a variety of tax software and company tools
- Role will require specialized training for both tools and process
- Ability to problem solve in a fastpaced deadline driven environment
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Basic to intermediate Microsoft Office Skills
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS SPECIFIC TO JOB
- Strong attention to detail ability to work independently
- Problem solving skills allowing for independent decision making
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of the technology tools required within assigned responsibilities
- Effective organization and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Flexibility to work overtime to meet busy season tax filing deadlines
EXPERIENCE
- 0 to 3 years of related experience
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Previous accounting industry / tax related experience and knowledge of tax deadlines is a plus

At RSM an employees pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including but not limited to education skills work experience certifications location etc. As such pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
