Lancashire is the fourth largest local authority in England spanning over a huge geographical area with a diverse range of communities. The Council provides services to approximately 1.2 million people who live within Lancashire.

The Care Finance Assessment team are looking to recruit a permanent full time Deprivation and Deferred Payment Team Leader within Exchequer Services. The role is based at County Hall Preston however there is currently an option to work from home however the successful candidate will be required to attend the office base for Induction Training and Meetings as and when required. All flexible working requests will be considered for the successful candidate.

The post holder will be responsible for the day to day management of the Deprivation and Deferred Payment Team providing support and leadership to 3.6 WTE Business Support Officers. Additionally you will provide deferred payment technical support and guidance to assessment officers and team leaders throughout the service

The successful applicant will be reviewing and monitoring the work of the team and contributing to the short term planning of the service. You will act as a point of escalation being responsible for decision making in respect of complex deprivation cases and deferred payment agreements along with resolving and responding to complaints and appeals. You will be responsible for interpreting legislation and identifying changes continually reviewing processes and producing and monitoring performance information to ensure the service is operating as efficient and effectively as possible supporting the delivery of defined deliverables within the team.

They will jointly work alongside colleague team leaders/managers contributing to the successful delivery of the service as a whole.

The successful applicant will have experience of managing or leading a team a proven track record of a high level of technical knowledge and experience of deprivation and deferred payments having a detailed and comprehensive understandingof charging and financial assessments in compliance with the Care Act 2014.
