DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Housekeeping at Torrance State Hospital plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation across various areas including examination rooms patient quarters laboratories and public spaces. Key responsibilities involve mopping vacuuming and sweeping floors as well as cleaning windows dusting furniture and ensuring proper waste disposal. Additionally staff are tasked with replenishing bathroom supplies rearranging items as necessary refinishing floors and conducting deep cleaning when required.
The position demands significant physical activity including prolonged standing bending and lifting making physical fitness essential for performing these duties effectively. To ensure safety it is vital to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) operate cleaning equipment correctly and utilize the right cleaning supplies to prevent injuries.Interested in learning more Additional details regarding this position can be found in theposition description.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Fulltime employment 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM Sunday through Saturday with a 30minute lunch.
- Rotating weekends will work approximately every fourth weekend with days off during the week. Holidays are in rotation by seniority.
- This position may require overtime and travel.
- Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Requirement:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including but not limited to PA State Police and FBI clearance.
