AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations from foundational services such as Amazons Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWSs services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization youll support the development and management of Compute Database Storage Internet of Things (IoT) Platform and Productivity Apps services in AWS including support for customers who require specialized security solutions.

Our team builds critical services in Bedrock Metering Billing and Commerce. We enable access to several thirdparty models and revenue for Bedrock and provide the infrastructure and services that enable Bedrock services to sell their features to AWS customers as well as help customers understand and manage their costs. Bedrock Commerce also supports hundreds of thirdparty providers and ensures they are paid billed and invoiced appropriately.

Key job responsibilities
As a Software Development Engineer (SDE) you will be responsible for designing developing testing and deploying distributed machine learning systems and largescale solutions for our worldwide customer base. You will collaborate closely with the larger AWS AI organization influence our overall strategy and define the teams roadmap. You will also drive the system architecture spearhead best practices that enable quality products and help coach and develop junior engineers. A successful candidate will have an established background in engineering largescale software systems strong technical ability great communication skills and a motivation to achieve results in a fastpaced environment.

A day in the life
In your role you will embody a unique blend of deep technical expertise and a fervent passion for software data and infrastructure solutions. Daily you will showcase exemplary organizational and communication skills navigating the complexities of a dynamic environment with agilityboth independently and through the leadership of others. Your proficiency in managing intricate software products will shine as you adeptly translate business cases into technical specifications crafting reliable and scalable solutions that meet the evolving needs of the business.

Your deep knowledge in building stable and scalable software and data solutions will be indispensable. With a rich background in database and distributed services technologies and the design of parallel systems you will navigate the challenges of data management and processing with expertise. This might include writing code in Java or other popular programming languages scripting in Bash to automate tasks or delving into the latest innovations in big data technologies and softwaredefined infrastructure. Whether optimizing performance ensuring data integrity or exploring new ways to handle vast datasets your skills will be crucial in advancing our Generative AI and Machine Learning tech infrastructure.

2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language

3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
