Job Description

Assistant Death Scene Investigator Standby

Pay is a minimum of $150 per callout.

Conducts and assists in investigations at the direction of the District Attorneys office.

Candidate must live in Reno County or within 25 miles of Hutchinson Kansas.

Position Requirements and Qualifications: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed in the attached job description are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Position Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or G.E.D.
Shall be screened for a record of criminal activity before job duties are assigned that might expose the candidate to KCJISsensitive information.
Shall be screened for a record of criminal activity and criminal history using a fingerprintbased check within 30 days of initial employment of assignment.
Knowledge of medical investigative practices and techniques.
Prior experience in Law Enforcement or Emergency Services is preferable.
On call work involving nights weekends and holidays.
Must live in Reno County or within 25 miles of Hutchinson Kansas.

Certifications / Licenses:

Valid Kansas drivers license.
Trained as a death scene investigator by an accredited instructor.
Certified for CJIS/KCJIS/NCIC.
