The Classics Department at Skidmore College invites applications for a specialist in classical languages and literature at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor. This is a fulltime 9month sabbatical replacement position for the fall 2025 and spring 2026 semesters.
We seek an expert in Greek and Latin who can teach these languages at all levels; the successful candidate will also deliver an advanced seminar in translation on the topic of their choice. The teaching load is five courses two in the fall and three in the spring. A completed Ph.D. is required before the start of the fall semester. Applicants must be committed to teaching and mentoring enthusiastic undergraduates.

Salary:$67636 plus comprehensive benefits.
All bargaining unit faculty members are covered by a collective bargaining agreement between Skidmore College and Services Employees International Union Local 200United.
