Postdoctoral staff scientist position (f/m/x) for W2 Marga and Walter Bollendowed professorship

TVL: 385 h/week (100%)

limited until 31. december 202& according to WissZeitVG within the framework of a thirdparty funded project

Your tasks

The successful candidate will employ flow cytometry cell culture CRISPR and molecular biology imaging experimental models and omics analysis (e.g. single cell RNAseq and metabolomics) to interrogate lymphocyte metabolism and function in health and disease.
Applicants will have access to cuttingedge technology and the opportunity to join a highly collaborative environment of several wellestablished groups working closely together in studying immune cell responses in cardiovascular disease and oncology models.

Your profile

  • We seek highly motivated and dynamic candidates with a PhD in biomedical sciences or related fields. Experience in the aforementioned areas especially in flow cytometry primary cell culture and a background in immunology (e.g. evidenced by highimpact publications) is required. Preferred candidates will have bioinformatics skills for omics analysis or are trained in immunemetabolism research.
  • You will participate in establishing a dynamic scientific program studying immune responses by T cells. Your involvement in writing grants is encouraged with the goal of your own thirdparty funding acquisition.
  • You will be involved in supervising undergraduate graduate and PhD students.

Your future in detail

A position is available focusing on immunometabolism and
unconventional T cells at the Faculty of Medicine at the University Hospital Cologne Germany. Join us to work on the interface of innate and adaptive immune responses focusing on innatelike unconventional T cells. We explore
how these lymphocytes mediate inflammatory but also tissue regenerative responses that are driven by distinct metabolic and nutrient programs and impacted by diet. We thrive to understand how mouse and human unconventional T cells exert both proinflammatory and repair functions on a fundamental and mechanistic level and also how this impacts immunotherapy of cancer cardiovascular disease as well as the interface of these diseases the emerging field of cardiooncology.
