CBC/RadioCanadas multimedia station serving the Ottawa region is looking for a Senior Manager Operations and Production.This position is temporary until April 2026.
Reporting directly to the Director Operations and Production and working closely with media partners you will be responsible for managing daily production operations as well as special productions. Your role will also include overseeing the continuous evolution of our processes tools and production operations in alignment with the content development strategies of all our media partners.
You will be responsible for planning directing and leading operational and technological projects and deployments as well as employees working in your various departments. You will also evaluate and recommend equipment acquisitions and capital projects needed to optimize the technical quality of productions as well as the performance of human physical and financial resources allocated to technical production.
You bring wideranging knowledge of production methods technologies and systems along with management experience in a technical field related to multiplatform production.
Key responsibilities:
Communicate overall strategic objectives and ensure business priorities are set for your division. Develop an action plan for achieving those objectives and follow up with teams.
Draft strategic plans and estimates for projects and productions.
Maintain close relationships with all CBC and RadioCanada media partners as well as with other departments within the company to ensure the proper evolution of our operations processes and development in line with the partners strategies.
Make recommendations to management on operational and technology strategy.
Supervise the work of technical producers and their teams: take part in hiring training and evaluation processes.
Work jointly and confidentially with all production partners human resource representatives and the unions in connection with the various committees labour disputes and contingency plans.
Sit on local regional and national committees upon request and perform any other task assigned by management.
What you bring:
University or community college graduation in a mediarelated field
Five (5) to ten (10) years experiences in a production center including five (5) years in a management or supervisory role
Open critical mind and managerial courage
Very good judgment in order to make important onthespot decisions
Excellent communication interpersonal and conflict management skills
Proven change management skills
Relevant experience in technical and financial resource management
Advanced extensive knowledge of production infrastructure
Experience managing and applying a collective agreement
Ability to listen and understand a vision in order to ascertain production teams true needs
Ability to unite and coordinate people
Thorough knowledge of the latest technologies in order to continually stay abreast of changes in the media environment
Bilingualism (English/French spoken and written)
