Our Multimedia QA team works to ensure multimedia FireOS components audio video and DRM are bug free on Amazons FireTV devices . The team also works on various developer tools and media players to better enable Amazons partners in their quest to develop applications for these devices. The ultimate goal is to ensure Amazons customers have the best possible multimedia (Audio Video DRM and 3P app) experience across all applications and devices produced by Amazon.

Achieving this means working closely with our external/internal partners and multimedia developers owning audio video and DRM components in FireOS. A key element of this work is in testing these applications (and other internal features and tools) and components to spot any quality escapes resulting from application changes or platform changes. For this we need Software QA Engineers with experience in multimedia (Audio Video DRM).
Software QA Engineers test code at both the user level and API level both manually and with automated tools. Our Software QA Engineers use black box gray box and white box testing techniques; they are able to understand software internals debug problems using log files and write automated tests with Python/JavaScript and/or userlevel test automation tools.
Software QA Engineers work with Software Development Engineers to understand features and technical implementations. Software QA Engineers also work with groups such as Product Management User Experience Design and Customer Support to understand customer usage models and develop test plans and test suites that approximate realworld environments and regression tests. Software QA Engineers are also responsible for driving the software development process toward qualitycentric methodologies.

As a QA Engineer you will champion the quality of our features in development pipeline using both automated and manual tests reporting and verifying defects and signingoff on features and release candidates. You will own authoring and execution of test plans and test cases. You will have a significant impact in the quality and delivery speed of our software/business and most importantly our customers. You will work closely with developers product managers and QA in order to ensure the features we deliver to our customers have a high level of quality. In addition you will also have the opportunity to propose improvements to our existing processes and automated tools in order to improve the teams speed quality and efficiency.

The candidate will have good handson experience in test automation and testing with good knowledge of the core software testing techniques.

About the team
Multimedia QA team is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of audio and video playback on FireTV devices. This team is responsible for testing the audio and video quality of thirdparty apps and deliver a world class entertainment experiences. We work with partners both internal and external to provide test infrastructure tools and support in delivering best Video experience.

4 years of quality assurance engineering experience
Experience in manual testing
Experience in automation testing
Experience as QA lead on medium to large sized projects

Experience with at least one automated test framework like Selenium or Appium
Experience in gathering test requirements to create detailed test plans and defining quality metrics to measure product quality

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $102600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
