Salary: Competitive salary of $31200 ($15 an hour) with great benefits!

Schedule: Monday Friday 2:00 PM 10:30 PM

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

The ideal candidate provides custodial care for Georgia State University facilities. Cleans and performs room setups in assigned building areas following established routines and procedures. In addition to supporting the departmentCustodian I assignments will generally fall into one of the following groupings although overlapping of duties may occur as needed:

  • Sweeps dust mops wet mops scrubs strips restores buffs and waxes floors vacuums
  • Performs other duties needed to maintain the cleanliness of campus floors.
  • Removes trash and cleans counters equipment and furnishings.
  • Performs other duties to maintain the cleanliness of laboratories office areas classrooms and other assigned work areas.
  • Cleans and restocks restrooms.
  • Set up chairs tables and other equipment in classrooms meeting rooms and other public areas.
  • Handles emergency cleanups; performs other related work as needed.
  • Must be able to bend twist reach overhead push and pull floor equipment (vacuum cleaner) push and pull large trash barrels and lift full trash bags weighing 30 pounds.
  • Must possess a normal degree of dexterity.

Employees will use cleaning chemicals daily and will sometimes work around potentially dangerous materials in specific laboratories

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift approximately 3050 lbs.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Six months of experience working in an institutional industrial or commercial setting is preferred
  • Some knowledge of custodial services practices techniques and procedures.
