Hitachi Energy has an exciting opportunity as a Supply Chain Specialist youll be reporting to the SCM Manager you will provide support to the business by ensuring that all purchasing and logistics activities align with corporate policies and procedures.

The role is home based and will be a Birmingham city Centre as a local base with a requirement to travel to Project Sites and Client Offices in the UK depending on specific requirements.
Responsibilities:
Purchasing materials goods & services and contracting transport/logistics services on behalf of the Grid Integration Business according to required technical specifications price delivery schedule and terms.
Initiating purchase orders according to the purchase requisitions and in alignment with standard procedures.
Negotiating agreements with main suppliers and periodically renewing price lists terms and conditions.
Supporting the bid and proposal teams by providing relevant market information.
Overseeing supplier performance (ontime delivery quality lead time) and resolving performance issues.
Identifying and qualifying new suppliers in cooperation with Supplier Quality and Engineering specialists.
Aligning supplier orders with customer requirements in terms of content quality delivery sustainability and price. Living core values of safety and integrity which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.
Background:
Proven experience in in Supply Chain & Logistics Management working as Buyer Supply Chain Specialist with electricalmechanical & services suppliers.
Demonstrated experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Current Work Permit valid in UK
Knowledge of SAP Office 365 applications.
A collaborative solutionsoriented approach and strong communication skills.
Customer oriented with excellent organization and strong communication skills.
Mastery in balancing stakeholders both external and internal.
A technical bachelors degree (such as Industrial or Electrical Engineering) would be considered a plus but is not essential.
