Job Description
The Department of Psychology at St. Francis Xavier University invites applications for two (2) 9month limited term appointments (LTAs) to begin August 15 2025. Ideally candidates for either of these LTA positions will have (or be nearing completion of) a PhD in Psychology. Candidates will be expected to teach some combination of the following courses: Research Methods (Psyc 291) and Statistics (Psyc 292) Introductory Psychology (Psyc 101/102) and courses in Cognition (Psyc 221/222) Sensation and Perception (Psyc 298) or Brain and Behavior (Psyc 231). An ability to teach courses in the areas of pain the basics of psychopharmacology or history of psychology would be considered an asset. Availability to teach courses inperson is required.
About the Psychology Department
The StFX Psychology Department is the largest department in the Faculty of Arts and among the largest within the university. The Department has 15 fulltime faculty members with diverse programs of research and funding support and four lab instructors. Our courses attract students from all disciplines across campus and we offer degrees in both the Arts and Sciences. We offer an Honours program coursebased research experiences as well as service learning and workintegrated learning opportunities.
