Job Description
Would you like to work at the largest Fulfillment Center (FC) in the Southern Hemisphere and first Amazon Robotics Site in Australia
Are you passionate about automation and want to work with some of the most advanced material handling systems in the world Were looking for an Automation Engineer to join our team!
Why this role matters As an Automation Engineer youll fault find troubleshoot and improve controls solutions for automated material handling equipment (MHE) mentor team members and drive innovations that impact customer deliveries daily.

Key job responsibilities
Partner with wider RME team to provide a high level of equipment availability to internal customers.
Coach and train technicians in the basics of control systems fault finding to foster an environment of continuous learning.
Collaborate with the AU/EU Controls network to enhance the capability to monitor Material Handling Equipment (MHE) metrics.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide visualization and data to internal customers.
Collaborate with IT EU Controls Engineering and Operations Engineering to maintain system documentation and backup procedures.
Collaborate with Global teams to support the installation and commission of new equipment.
Support other sites in the AU network as required.
Interpret both mechanical and electrical drawings.
Improve strategies for code conforming to IEC 611313.
About the team
Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering or RME team keep our equipment performing at its best. Were a technically skilled team of of collaborative professionals guided by experienced leaders. We work together to maintain troubleshoot and repair equipment across our global network.
Relevant experience with PLC controlled automation and issue diagnosis in a continuous process or production environment.
Experience supporting a wide range of different conveyors and sortation systems.
Experience in dealing with material handling flow and capacity visualization and monitoring.
Preferred qualifications are not required to apply for a position at Amazon. If you meet the basic qualifications above wed love to hear from you.
A degree in computer science electrical engineering industrial electronics or another technical subject.
Experience working within ISO 13849 and ISO 62061 frameworks.
Experience working in a multisite environment
Project management experience with multiple frameworks such as Agile and Waterfall.
Experience of Six Sigma data analysis or process improvement techniques.
