St. Dominic Village is one of the leading senior care providers in the Greater Houston area. We are a faithbased nonprofit continuing care retirement community dedicated to Caring for Our Elders with the Compassion of Christ.
As a ministry of the Archdiocese of GalvestonHouston St. Dominic Village provides a seamless continuum of care comprised of shortterm rehabilitation skilled nursing care assisted living independent living the Archbishop Joseph A. Fiorenza Priest Retirement Residence and respite care services.
SHOWER AIDE
Seeking a fulltime for a Assisted Living Facility. Schedule: Monday Friday; 9:00 AM 5:30 PM
Qualifications
- Active Texas Certified Nursing Assistant
- A minimum of two (2) years experience in Assisted Living or Skilled Nursing Facility
- Knowledge of charting in EMRs
Responsibilities
- Providing Bathing and Showering Assistance: This includes preparing the patient for a shower or bath assisting with transferring to and from a shower chair or tub and ensuring the patient is properly dried and dressed.
- Personal Hygiene Care: This may include assisting with shaving shampooing and performing nail care.
- Observing and Reporting: Shower aides monitor patients for any signs of skin breakdown unusual symptoms or changes in condition and report these to the shift charge nurse Wellness Director.
- Maintaining a Clean and Safe Environment: This involves cleaning and disinfecting the shower area between patients and ensuring the area is free of hazards.
- Assisting with Other Daily Living Activities: Shower aides may also assist with dressing feeding and mobility depending on the patients needs and the facilitys policies.
- Documentation: Shower aides are required to document in EMRpatient care activities including the timing and type of bathing or showering provided.
