Job Description

Manulifes Global Wealth & Asset Management (Global WAM) segment has embarked on an exciting journey that is transforming the organization by harnessing the power of data and related analytics. This transformation is a key strategic enabler and we are looking for individuals who are passionate about joining the team that will lead this journey.

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about harnessing the power of data and brings to the table robust technical expertise coupled with strong communications skills.

The Chief Data Office in close partnership with key business stakeholders Global WAM Operations and Information Services will support the transformation of the organization to ensure data is leveraged as a strategic asset supporting our business goals. The groups objectives include:

  • A single central source for data which is easy to access and describes how the data was obtained
  • Data quality continually monitored and accuracy improved
  • Common standards and policies for data governance
  • Flexible reporting tools to access data and adapt to changing business or regulatory requirements

The Analyst Operational Insights Enablement will be a key member of a team of data professionals responsible for establishing and driving the successful implementation of BI and reporting solutions in Manulifes Global WAM segment. They will bring together their technical expertise business knowledge and communications skills to enable deployment and usage of these solutions for GWAM.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead development and deployment of operational insights solutions including data sourcing ETL data modelling and data visualizations
  • Apply change management principles and utilize appropriate messaging/positioning to ensure solutions are well governed and successfully adopted by all levels of stakeholders
  • Establish standards and documentation related to data ingestion modelling and reporting
  • Support development related to the technical capability established in our data quality solution including troubleshooting issues process or model automation and expanding functionality or reporting
  • Support the processes related to the adoption of the segments data quality monitoring program including stakeholder engagement translation of business data quality requirements into SQL code and relevant change management activities to ensure sustained process adoption

What are we looking for

  • Undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline
  • 35 years of relevant work experience
  • High business and technical acumen; ability to quickly learn about the business or technologies and apply knowledge to achieve team outcomes with positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis with broad understanding of data foundationally and technically
  • Handson experience creating solutions leveraging a variety of technologies
  • Experience in data ETL data modeling database and query language (e.g. SQL PL/SQL) programming languages (e.g. C# VB Python) and subsequent data visualization (e.g. Power BI)
  • Experience bridging the business and technology worlds with the ability to effectively collaborate across teams to achieve desired outcomes
  • Ability to constructively challenge and influence stakeholders
  • Tenacity to push past challenges while maintaining focus on the objective is essential
  • Strong leadership communication and presentation skills

Salary range is expected to be between

$61350.00 CAD $102250.00 CAD
