The BentonCarrollSalem Local School District is a premiere school district institution that serves approximately 1500 students in central Ottawa County Ohio. The districts northern border is Lake Erie and the 110 square mile geographical area of the school district is situated approximately between Toledo and Sandusky. Besides Oak Harbor High School (712) the district serves students in grades K through 6 at Oak Harbor K6 campus. Oak Harbor High School prides itself on high ratings from the Ohio Department of Education and strives to deliver a diverse and superior academic experience for all students with a wide variety of curricular and extra/cocurricular educational programming. The campus of Oak Harbor High School offers a variety of highquality 21 Century learning spaces as well as meticulously cared for grounds and athletic venues and other resources such as a state of the art pool fitness area and PROFILE:The principal is chief administrative officer for the high school who works at the direction of the superintendent and designees to deliver a superior educational program to all students. This includes but not limited to establishing a positive educational climate engaging in a variety of supportive management and organizational tasks directing and implementing the educational program managing school/parent/community relations collaboratively leading progress toward schoolwide academic goals and supervising academic athletic and student activities. The principal will be a key educational leader in facilitating the mission of the school district:Through engaging cuttingedge studentcentered learning opportunities WEBelieve each child can achieve success and all staff must remain ready to meet the needs of children;Challengeall students and staff to be civicminded leaders problem solvers and critical thinkers and;Succeed when we work collaboratively with all district stakeholders to prepare our students for the challenges of higher education training the workforce and life in a democratic QUALIFICATIONS:*Masters Degree or higher*Valid certification/licensure including certification as an OTES evaluator*A minimum of five years of exemplary teaching experience*Clear background checks as required by law*A demonstrated record of exemplary administrative/supervisory or other relevant leadership experience*A studentcentered leader with a strong work ethic who fosters and sustains positive and productive relationships with all school stakeholders*An individual of high moral character and integrity who can maintain credibility confidence and pride in the school*A willingness to be highly visible and accessible at both school and community events/activities*Outstanding communication collaboration planning and organizational skills*Comprehensive knowledge of curriculum standardsbased education instructional improvement strategies and the use of data techniques toward improving student achievement*Proven ability to take the initiative and to fulfill leadership responsibilities without ongoing prompting*Strong understanding of school law and special education law policies and procedures
