Job Description
THE POSITION
Complement our team with your trades skills as a Utility Plant Operator 2! Clarks Summit State Hospital is seeking mechanically skilled individuals to join our Facility Services Boiler Plant Operator Team. In this role you will be responsible for operating our gas and oil boiler plant. This position requires a mechanically skilled selfmotivated and independent thinker to complete assignments. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Utility Plant Operator 2 you will maintain boiler plant operations at Clarks Summit State Hospital. Your duties will include performing various operation repairs on single and multiple fuel power boilers using controls and gauges to determine adjustments or corrections to be made and repairing and maintaining control equipment. In this position you will observe and note readings on gauges meters and computergenerated and analog displays to detect danger signals. You can expect to identify defects in equipment and building fixtures and make repairs. Additionally you will use and care for tools and equipment and follow safety precautions.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Fulltime employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM during the training period. Once training is successfully completed work hours will as follows on a rotating schedule including weekends and holidays.
- 3rd shift: 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM with a shift differential of $1.15 per hour
- Travel and overtime as needed

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Utility Plant Operator 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title as determined by the Office of Administration);or
- One year of semiskilled work experience in the operation maintenance or repair of industrial commercial or institutional utility plant systems and related equipment;or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes six months of semiskilled work experience in the operation maintenance or repair of industrial commercial or institutional utility plant systems and related equipment.
Special Requirements:
Thisposition requires possession of an active Class C motor vehicle license.

Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will requirea medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including but not limited to PA State Police and FBI clearance.
